New Delhi, Nov 28, : .Dawn reported that a Chinese company was blacklisted by Pakistan’s National Transmission and Despatch Company in October.
Dawn said that five other companies were seeking similar action for submitting forged documents during bidding for different projects. After an inquiry team examined the complaint and the evidence, it was also proven to be valid, according to the report.
“The Chinese company was blacklisted last month, and it was banned from participating in any tenders for one month.According to the report, a source within the NTDC stated that the Chinese firm was blacklisted and barred from participating in any tender for one month.
The NTDC, a state-owned subsidiary of Ministry of Energy (Power Division), had on October 11 placed a Chinese company on the blacklist for allegedly submitting forged documents during the bidding process for a project to procure insulator hardware assemblies.
An inquiry committee has told the NTDC management that the treatment of the Chinese company was discriminatory.
Other companies whose documents were also questioned for tenders and projects were also deemed bogus, and were ‘favoured by’ some officers.
