Bengaluru 9th September : A student in Class 2 has sustained 40% burns after a teacher poured hot water at him for self-defecation in the uniform at school.The incident occurred on the last day of school, the primary school of the body known as Ghanamatheshwara Grameena Samsthe at Santekallur village in Karnataka’s Raichur district.
The student Akhith has been admitted to Lingasaguru hospital in the taluk His condition is believed to be grave.
After discovering that Akhith had urinated in his dress, Huligeppa, the teacher became furious and poured hot water over the child.
Sources say the family of the boy has been warned against expressing their opinions over the incident.Akhith’s parents have received calls from local leaders.
In the meantime, the police stated that unless a complaint is filed and a response is not forthcoming, no action can be taken.
Women and Child Welfare Department officials haven’t visited the hospital, and have did not pay attention to the situation of the boy.
The teacher who was accused of the incident has been unable to attend the school following the incident.
A source suggested that authorities should adopt a suo motu stance to investigate the issue.
