Chennai Sep 4, : In describing the experience of working with A.R.Rahman as a memorable experience, the legendary director Gautham Vasudev Menon has revealed that the scenario to two songs in his upcoming film “Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu’ (VTK), with Simbu in the role of the protagonist role, was developed by none other than the Mozart of Madras himself.
The director, at the trailer and audio launch of the film spoke about his experiences of working with Rahman.”I believe it’s the most simple thing that has ever occurred to me in the process of working.We only discuss films, only work and only that specific film.”

“It could be 2.30 in the morning.In a flash, I’d receive an urgent phone call.I’m thinking Rahman sir didn’t look up the time.In the morning, at 2.30 a.m.He’d contact me to say, “Lyricist Thamarai is online.Are we able to talk?” The conversation could last for approximately two hours.We’ll discuss the tone of the tune and the lyrics.” he elaborated.

“In this movie, in two places, the situations in which songs play are those which Rahman sir himself designed for us.

“It isn’t a sung-heavy film, but it is very beautiful.he was looking at the movie and said “I see the song Gautham.

Why is there not an actual song in this film? It’s exactly the kind of movement you suggest it should be, but I consider it to be an actual song.Why don’t you treat this musically? Rahman sir asked and then created two similar situations for songs.” Menon added.

“Thamarai composed stunning lyrics for the two songs.

However, due to of the lockdown as well as the pandemic there was a lot of discussion took place on the internet.It was conducted via Skype, Zoom and phone calls.

We visited the studio and had the video recorded.It was a wonderful experience, as always.” he said.
