New Delhi (12/12/2012) – Delhi Police arrested three drug peddlers in the South East area of Delhi and took heroin worth Rs 60 lakh.
Mohd was identified among the arrested.
Aslam was a Faridabad resident, Bavla (alias Babu) and Rafiq Ahmad (alias Baba), both of Govindpuri, Delhi.
The official stated that a team of police officers was formed to stop the selling of contraband in Delhi’s South East district and in particular the Hazrat Nizamuddin region.
The team was tipped Thursday by a source that three people would visit a DDA park in order to buy psychotropic drugs from an unidentified person.
The police set up a trap in the Hazrat Nizamuddin region near DDA Park and captured all three suspects.
Following a search, they were found in possession of 330 grams of heroin, the police said.Accordingly, a case under sections 21, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered and they were arrested.
Further investigation is underway.
