Chandigarh 23rd August : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday stated that in only five months of taking over the Aam Aadmi Party government has given appointments letters of government posts to 17,313 young people.
In addressing a crowd here, as he handed over appointment letters to newly appointed 435 constables in Punjab Police, the Chief Minister assured the public that the state government completed the entire recruitment process in fair and transparent way.

He stated that merit was the sole factor of selection in this recruitment campaign.Mann announced that the recruitment process for filling 5,739 additional post of the Police Department would be embarked shortly.

In urging the newly-appointed constables to upgrade their knowledge to eliminate crime and criminals from the state The Chief Minister emphasized that it is an issue of satisfaction and pride for them to know that all constables are highly trained and well-equipped with technical and academic expertise.

He claimed that this knowledge can be beneficial with dealing with criminals and crime in our current era of technological advances.

Mann said, however, Mann said as the criminals are coming up with new ways of doing crime, police must also update their knowledge to combat criminals and crime effectively.

The Chief Minister stated that he is thrilled to hear that young people with excellent academic credentials were successfully recruited for this demanding job.

He stated that out of 4,358 candidates there are 103 postgraduates, 2,607 of them are graduates and 1,648 senior secondary students.

In the same way, Mann said 2,930 constables are in the age range of 18-25 years old, and 816 are in the 26-30 age group.
