Centurion 28 Dec : .Rishabh Pan, the Indian wicketkeeper who recorded 100 runs in the longest format during Tuesday’s Test match against South Africa became yet another feather in his cap.Pant, a 24-year-old from India broke the record held by Wriddhiman and MS Dhoni for former India captains.He made his 100th dismissal during his 26th Test at SuperSport Park.
To achieve this feat, the young wicketkeeper needed 26 matches.Dhoni Saha and Saha achieved it in 36 Tests.When he caught Temba Bvuma from Mohammed Shami’s bowling, he reached the landmark.
To surpass his idol Dhoni, Pant had to get three dismissals at the Boxing Day Test.
After taking the catch of Dean Elgar and Wiaan Mulder, Pant made it to Day 3.
Dhoni is the overall leader in Indian dismissals with 294, ahead of Syed Kirmani (198) and Kiran More (130), Nayan Montgia (107) and Wriddhiman Saha (104)
