The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the low-pressure area that entered the southeastern Bay of Bengal from the Andaman Sea will turn into a depression within 12 hours.It continues to move towards the west-northwest direction.
The IMD has warned that it will intensify into a cyclone in the next 24 hours after entering the central Bay of Bengal.It is expected to cross the coast between the northern coast and southern Odisha on December 4.It will continue to move west-northwest even after reaching the mainland, the latest IMD reports said.
However, the IMD said the impact would be more on the North Coast of Andhra Pradesh from December 3.Heavy to moderate rains are expected in some parts of Uttara Andhra districts from tomorrow.Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Uttarandhra and southern Odisha on December 4.The cyclone is also expected to affect the Ganga basin in West Bengal.
The storm was reported to be blowing at a speed of 110 KMPH while crossing the coast.
The IMD has warned fishermen not to go for fishing in the sea from December 3 to 5.
