Chandigarh 2 Sep : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday announced a series of changes that aim to strengthen the party, as well as giving more room to youth and women by having 50 percent of seats for workers who are less than 50 years of age.
The SAD chief has told reporters in the area that the party will stick to its basic principles and the necessity of a federal structure, which includes all segments of society and people of all faiths with it.

He declared that SAD the oldest regional party with an average of 102 years of experience and will continue to rise to meet the aspirations of the Punjab region of the people of Punjab.

In a call to Punjabis to know which parties were trying to divide them to achieve their narrow political objectives, Badal announced it would concentrate on educating the next generation of leaders by securing 50 percent of seats in the upcoming assembly election for members of the party who were under the age of 50 years.

He stated that the change would be made at the most senior degree of the decision-making in the organization -the core committeeand also.

He stated that the main committee will be reconfigured with members of the younger generation, including the younger generation as well as women and other representatives of all groups of society.

He also announced that the party would from now on follow the concept of one family one ticket.He declared that upon the creation of the chairmanships of government at the state and district levels will be allocated to party members, and relatives of MPs and MLAs will not be considered for these positions.

“The goal is to provide the most opportunities to workers and help them become the next generation of leaders.” He declared that from now on district presidents would not run in the elections.

Badal said that elections to the new structure of organisation will be completed on November 30 under the direction of the central elections body.

He stated that 117 observers will be appointed to supervise the entire process across all the constituencies of the state.”The main focus will be on creating of booth committees, which will select the booth president.The latter will choose the circle presidents, who in turn will choose district presidents.”

Badal declared that the president of the party will be able to serve for two consecutive terms of five years each after which the incumbent will have to break of one year.”This will lead to the induction of new leaders at the highest levels,” he added.
