A famous Telugu film director, Jagarlamudi Krish, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a drug party at a five-star hotel in Hyderabad.Krish is known for making big-budget movies with top stars, such as Gamyam, Vedam, Gautami Putra Satakarni, NTR biopic Kathanayakudu, and the upcoming Hari Hara Veeramallu with Pawan Kalyan.
The Cyberabad police filed a first information report (FIR) naming Krish and nine others as the accused in the drug case, based on the confession of a drug peddler, Syed Abbas Ali.According to the police, Krish is a close friend of Gajjela Vivekanand, the son of a prominent BJP leader and realtor, Gajjela Yoganand.Vivekanand owns the Radisson Blue Hotel, where the police raided a drug party on Sunday midnight and seized cocaine and other evidence.
The police said that Krish was present at the hotel with Vivekanand and eight others, who were all consuming cocaine during the party.The police also said that Krish had attended several other parties hosted by Vivekanand, where drugs were supplied by Abbas.The police are investigating whether Krish and the others had taken drugs or not, and what role they had in the drug network.
Out of the 10 accused, only three were caught by the police: Vivekanand, Nirbhay, and Kedar.The other seven, including Krish, managed to escape from the hotel in a car.The police are searching for them and examining the CCTV footage of the hotel.The police are also probing if the hotel staff helped the accused to flee.
The mobile phones of the accused were confiscated and sent to the forensic lab for analysis.
The police are trying to find Abbas, the drug supplier, and trace the source of the cocaine.
