YSRCP demands recounting in Jaggayyapeta

The counting of municipal elections votes is underway in Andhra Pradesh.The YSRCP bagged a solid victory in Kuppam and Nellore Municipal corporations.

However, a clash erupted in a counting centre in the Jaggayyapeta in the Krishna district.The YSRCP candidate from the fourth ward of the constituency demanded recounting.

Election officials officially announced that TDP candidate Suryadevara Usharani had won by 14 votes.Both the winning and losing candidates then left the counting centre with the signatures of the agents of both parties.

However, the YCP candidate approached the counting centre again two hours later and demanded a recount.

Responding to this, the officials clarified that if there is a double-digit majority and hence the collector should give permission.

The YCP candidate along with other candidates and local leaders staged a protest at the counting centre and demanded recounting.

Upon receiving the information, the sub-collector reached the counting centre.

TDP and YCP candidates are eagerly awaiting the decision of the sub-collector on the recounting.So far, in the Jaggayyapet panchayat, Telugu Desam Party candidates won 8 seats and the YSRCP won 8 seats.

It remains to be seen whether the sub-collector would give permission for recounting or not.
