Srinagar (12/12/2008) Officials said that one terrorist was killed during a gunfight between terrorists and security personnel in Awantipora, South Kashmir’s Pulwama District, on Sunday.One terrorist was killed.
Police said that operation was continuing
After a joint police-army team had cordoned off an area, the military launched a search operation based on specific intelligence about terrorists.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where the terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
