Bhubaneswar 12 August : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated two irrigation schemes of 1.508 crore rupees in Mayurbhanj district.These projects will allow irrigation for more than 27,000 acres of land, which will benefit over 2.5 million farmers.
Patnaik was the first person to visit the district since Droupadi Murmu’s swearing in as the 15th President of India.Murmu is an Indian citizen of the district of tribal of Odisha.

Participating in a program held in Tikpada in Rasgovindpur block Patnaik opened Deo and Subarnarekha irrigation projects and laid the foundation stones for several development projects in the district.

According to officials according to officials, According to the officials, Subarnarekha project will supply irrigation to 17,121 acres of agriculture land in Mayurbhanj as well as Balasore districts.

More than 55,000 farmers of both districts are expected to benefit from the project.The project was built at an expense of $685 million.

The goal is to supply irrigation for 70,000 acres of land with the help of the project, according to the officials.

In addition, around 10,000 acres of surface in Mayurbhanj will also be provided with irrigation under the Deo project.

This will be beneficial to 2 lakh inhabitants of 100 villages of the district of tribal.

In the course of the scheme, the dam of 1,280 meters long is being built on Deo river in Hatibari of Karanjia block an expense of 823 crore rupees.
