The next stage of Samarth eGov’s implementation is expected to be more than 500 HEIs by 2023.

Professor Sanjeev Singh, Joint Director, University of Delhi South Campus, said that Samarth eGov is developed as an open-source, highly flexible, interconnected, secure, and scalable platform, delivered on a software-as-a-service model with a cloud-first approach on AWS.

“It can meet the varied and ever-changing needs of higher education and universities throughout India regardless of which state they reside in or which language they select to communicate with,” Singh added.

The suite offers institutions and universities with an automated engine that allows them to transition from traditional paper-based and traditional third-party enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to an improved, secure reliable, efficient, and scalable system that automatizes and standardizes the digital workflow and processes.

Samarth eGov leverages AWS services to process more than 7.6 million applications from students and handle more than 600,000.staff and faculty application forms, and maintain more than 7.5 million student records across the nation.

“We felicitate the University of Delhi for embarking on and the implementation of Samarth eGov, a pioneering initiative in the higher education sector in India and addressing the common issues faced by educational institutions,” said Rahul Sharma Regional Head of Public Sector AISPL, AWS India and South Asia.

Through Samarth eGov, students could easily access basic information about courses such as selection criteria and registration, admission and fee payment online.

Educational institutions can also improve student outcomes by automating processes such as managing their teaching schedules and freeing teachers’ time to focus on teaching tasks that are personalised, like providing lessons that are based on student performance, according to Cloud.Cloud company.
