Guinean women held in IGI, heroin worth Rs 72 Cr

New Delhi : , Dec 25, 2005 – Officials said that a Guinean woman, who was carrying heroin weighing 10.35kg, was detained at Indira Gandhi International airport for being found with heroin worth Rs 72.45 Crore.
According to a senior Customs officer, the female arrived at IGI via Dubai from Addis Ababa.

She was carrying heroin in a small bag.Two leather folders were found in her bag.They appeared heavy even though they contained no heroin.We found four packages when we cut it open,” said a Customs officer.

Official said two additional packets had been recovered.

She told Custom officers during questioning that she had been given the bag by an Addis Ababa woman.

She has been charged under the NDPS Act.
