New Delhi, December 30, : .Warning Pakistan Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and the Chief Minister of Sindh Province Murad Ali Shah about the dire consequences of their actions, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl for Singh (JUI-F), Secretary General Rashid Mahmood Soomro stated that they won’t accept the execution of the court order to destroy an illegally built mosque in Karachi.Friday Times reported.Pakistan’s Supreme Court found that three mosques, shrines, and a cemetery located near Tariq Road, Karachi, were infringing on public land.It ordered that they be removed on Tuesday.
Soomro uploaded a Twitter video that went viral late Wednesday night, and challenged authorities to demolish the mosque.
“Mr Chief Judge, the mosques do not belong to orphans.Mr Chief Secretary, the mosques don’t belong to orphans.
Soomro urged that if you are strong enough, bulldoze the mosque.
He said, “We’ll stop you on your way [to the Mosque ].].Your offices may also be destroyed if mosques are demolished.
Khawaja Shams was the lawyer for the mosque’s administration.He claimed that the land had been legally acquired through an auction by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
According to the District Municipal Corporation (DMC), land had been rezoned for public facilities.Gulzar Ahmad had criticised the District Municipal Corporation (DMC) for allowing unrestricted development in the city.
Ahmad asked, “What are you doing with this city?” He added: “The city was built in such a manner that it now requires to be rebuilt completely, just like France, Germany, and Poland.”
