The ceremony was graced by the presence of tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain and legendary guitarist John McLaughlin, who joined Mahadevan to commemorate this milestone achievement.

Mahadevan emphasized the impact of receiving an honorary doctorate from an artist he has long admired, stating that it sets a goal for him to achieve.
