Mumbai 24 August : The amount of money spent by end-users on enterprise software in India is expected to reach $4.7 billion in 2022 this is which is an increase of 14.8 percent from 2021 according to an Gartner report announced on Wednesday.
However the rate of growth in software spending will be less in 2022 than in 2021 due to a volatile macroeconomic situation , which has increased uncertainty in business.

“Organisations will continue to put projects that are long-term off selectively and reduce the amount of projects that are expensive and instead focus on quick wins which either have a shorter ROI (ROI) or give an edge in the market,” said Neha Gupta vice president analyst.

The additional spending will be used to improve the digital experience of customers.

“Driven by the digital transformation plan, Indian enterprises will continue to increase the percentage of software-related expenditure in their overall IT spending.Companies are increasingly relying upon software to manage across all aspects of the business process,” Gupta added.

Applications that are crucial to maintaining the level of customer services, such as supply chain management (SCM) and supply chain execution (SCE) and customer relationship management (CRM) will see an increase in expenditure as companies attempt to tackle complicated supply chains and volatile markets and more efficiently adapt to disruption and change.

The cost of CRM software is predicted to increase 18.1 percent in 2022, whereas SCM software expenditures will rise 10.2 percent.

Indian companies will also invest more in authoring and email as well as content services to for collaboration and remote/hybrid work, as the report said.
