Gadar 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has been making waves in the news recently.Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and director Anil Sharma for this project.
Joining the cast are Utkarsh Sharma, son of Anil Sharma, and Simrat Kaur Randhawa, who has previously worked in the Punjabi and Telugu film industries.
However, some original fans of Gadar 2 expressed their disappointment with the trailer, as they felt that Ameesha Patel’s presence was not adequately showcased.
Adding to the concerns, a new issue emerged on social media as old clips from Simratt’s previous projects, including intimate scenes, were shared. While such scenes are not uncommon in the industry, some fans felt that they didn’t align with the emotional and nationalistic themes that Gadar is known for.Simratt Kaur Randhawa had appeared in the Telugu film Dirty Hari, which featured intimate scenes and was released on an OTT platform. The film starred Shravan Reddy as the hero.
Ameesha Patel, the lead actress of Gadar 2, was tagged in some of the tweets regarding Simratt’s casting but chose not to respond to the controversy. The storyline of Gadar 2 revolves around Tara Singh, who embarks on a mission to bring back his son from Pakistan during the 1971 war.One of the highlights of the film is the new version of the classic song “Udd Jaa Kaale Kaavan,” which has received a great response from the audience.
Prior to the release, tensions arose between Ameesha Patel and director Anil Sharma over alleged mismanagement on the sets of Gadar 2.However, Ameesha took to Twitter to address concerns raised by fans regarding Simrat Kaur’s presence in the film.Several fan accounts shared snippets of Simrat from her previous projects, expressing their reservations about her casting in the film.
In response, Ameesha urged her fans to stop speculating and requested them to watch Gadar 2 in theaters on August 11, showing their love and support.
Ameesha Patel had also previously raised concerns about delayed payment for some technicians who had worked on Gadar 2.She mentioned that technicians, including makeup artists and costume designers, had not received their rightful remuneration and dues from Anil Sharma Productions. However, she acknowledged that Zee Studios stepped in to ensure that all dues were settled, praising them as a professional company.
