Bhopal 25 August : Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and former chief minister Kamal Nath on Thursday said that the party should work more vigorously and in an organized way to fight the BJP in the coming assembly elections that are scheduled to be held in the coming year.Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders had been gathered for a meeting at the party’s headquarters on Thursday.
The brainstorming session, which ended after three hours were with former cabinet ministers and senior leaders , including Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh, Ajay Singh (Rahul), Kamaleshwar Patel, Sajjan Singh Verma and others.
In addition to the senior members of the party presidents and the in-charges of the 52 districts in the state were also present at the gathering which was chaired by Kamal Nath.
Congress officials said the meeting was meant to begin preparations for the assembly elections in 2023.
It was also the first meeting in which the district-level party cadre to senior leaders met for an idea-sharing session.
In the recent elections the Congress has received a huge responses from the people and has won five seats in the mayoral elections which include Gwalior, Morena and Rewa.
When addressing the crowd Kamal Nath urged party leaders to reach out towards the masses in their respective regions with the same goal of defeating the BJP in 2023’s assembly elections.
“We can beat the BJP only if we work together.The time has come that you must all step to action, leaving everything else to the side,” Nath said.
Nath announced that each district heads and their in-charges would be summoned for an assessment of their performance after one and a half months.
“We must work more quickly than we did earlier.
And this should be done in an organized manner,” Nath said.
In the meantime, Kamal Nath also clearly stated that anyone who wants to leave the post of in-charge should make the decision as soon as is possible and “not cause any disruption in the future”.
