Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has urged Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao to ensure an immediate end to the real estate businesses on lands owned by Dalits and tribals.
In a letter to the Chief Minister on Friday, Sanjay said such land must be protected and barred from being developed by realtors.Instead of protecting such land by lending support to the assignees, the government has remained a silent spectator when the beneficiaries are being forced to give up their land for real estate development.
“The ventures in Siddipet and Shamshabad are coming up on land assigned to Dalits and tribals. The BRS government must take immediate steps to protect the interests of these hapless victims,” Sanjay said.
He reminded KCR of his promise to provide pattas for podu land to tribals.
Real estate in assigned lands is atrocious: Apart from that, Bandi Sanjay expressed his grief that the hopes of lakhs of Dalits and tribals have been dashed as the pink government has reneged on the promise of giving three acres of cultivable land to Dalits and tribals. He said that if Dalit and tribal families have been doing agriculture for many years in the assigned lands given by the previous governments, then it is a matter of taking away the yoke of their mouths.Bandi Sanjay was angry that they only promised to take care of the fertile lands cultivated by the tribals, but did not show them in practice.
Venture on Dalit land in Siddipet is inhumane: He asked if the CM was aware of the fact that the venture started by CM Chandrasekhar Rao in Siddipet was in Dalit lands.Bandi Sanjay said that real estate businesses in Shamshabad are only on tribal lands, and these are only a few of them.
The instances of taking away the assigned lands allotted to the Dalits and tribals across the state are ridiculous, is this the respect that the government gives to the most backward Dalits and tribals in the society? Bandi Sanjay deposed in the letter.
Livelihood of Dalits and Tribals Nominal: Bandi Sanjay said that the CM’s family wants to be comfortable, but they are showing severe discrimination against Dalits and tribals. The welfare of Dalits is not tall statues and names for government buildings, it is important to provide them livelihood.Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the Dalits and tribals have suffered severely in all ways under the BRS regime, losing even their nominal means of livelihood, and the government has left no protection for the Dalits and tribals.
