Rishab Shetty a kannada actor became overnight popular across India with his blockbuster ‘Kantara’.He aslo wrote and directed the movie which released on September 30, 2022.
Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 16 crore the Kannada movie went on to gross more than Rs 400 at the worldwide box office.Hombale Films which produced ‘Kantara’ had announced the production of the sequel during the celebration of 100 days of the film.
The movie is all set to see the sequel go on floors.Now, it has been confirmed that Rishab Shetty has completed the script work for Kantara 2 and finalised the recce for locations as well.
Earlier this year, Rishab had gone for a long recce to the coastal and nearby forest regions of Karnataka.
Hombale Films Founder Vijay Kiragandur had stated that Rishab planned to start shooting in June, as a portion of the shoot requires the rainy season.
Kantara 2 will be a pan-India release in April or May 2024.The budget for Kantara 2 has been increased but the movie style, narration and cinematography will be similar to Kantara to keep the continuity and genuineness in the film.
More cast members will be added and they may be big names, which is what is expected.The news has spread in the industry and the fans of the movie are eagerly awaiting the release of the film.
The success of this movie globally stunned Rishab Shetty as well as the producer, Hombale Films.Kantara was released in Kannada and when it found success, was released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.
This film is an action-thriller which is rooted in Karnataka folklore and is written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself.Kantara also starred Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda and Pramod Shetty in pivotal roles.
