Hyderabad 12th of September : Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday urged the Centre to rescind the Electricity Amendment Bill 2022 prior to farmers take part in a new demonstration.In his speech in the State Legislative Assembly, he made a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi’s government for what he called its plot to demolish the agricultural sector in the name of reforms.
He stated that if the power reform bill is implemented, motors must be connected to agricultural pumps and this could be a fatal blow for farmers, who will be into labourers in their fields.
KCR or KCR as Rao is known, pleaded with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to rescind the power reform bill.”Modiji Please remove the power reforms bill.You have a habit of making laws and then withdrawing them later.You introduced an ordinance on land acquisition, and then retracted it.You introduced three anti-farmer laws, and then later withdrew them , but also apologized, he said.
“Take back the power reform bill prior to any troubles.
Before people rise up and start another protest, let us know that you will be treated with reverence,” he added.
He declared that Telangana will not accept the installation of pumps for agriculture with motors and will continue to provide 24×7 supply of free power to the agricultural sector.
He declared that if changes to power systems of the Centre are accepted 39 lakh families of farmers in the state would be severely affected.
KCR who is planning to launch soon an all-national political party and slammed the Modi government for its unsound and undemocratic policies as well as for bringing down non-BJP government in states.
He said that the BJP government was arrogant to other parties, and said that it was elected in the Centre with only 36 percent of the votes.
He mentioned the threats made by BJP leaders to establish Eknath Shindes in all states that are ruled by non-BJP political parties.
He claimed that the state’s BJP president had issued an ultimatum to Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.
KCR said that history has seen more powerful dictators like Hitler, Mussolini and Napoleon.”They all were smashed and made part of the history of the world,” he said and noted that the current regime is at the Centre has only about 18-20 months to go.
KCR claimed that after selling railways, ports and airports and other sectors the government was looking to transfer agricultural and electricity to corporations.”These are the only two remaining sectors, with a plan to sell them both in the name of reforms.There’s been a dramatic rise in the cost of fertilizers as well as seeds, diesel and various other products.The plan is to raise the electricity price so that farmers have no choice but to hand over their land to corporations who are ready to take them over with the approval of the government.” he said.
