Dubai 10th September : Pakistan leg-spin all-rounder Shadab Khan believes that beating Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final and winning that trophy as the best thing for his team.The final of Asia Cup 2022, to be played at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday and will have Pakistan as well as Sri Lanka face each other for the fourth time in the final of the multi-nation tournament.Although Pakistan have been able to win three matches and lost two games in the tournament thus far, Sri Lanka have been on the winning side four times, while losing only once.In the overall equation of head-to head in Asia Cup, Sri Lanka have won 11 games while Pakistan have defeated them only five times.
A victory on Sunday will boost Sri Lanka’s Asia Cup titles from five to six, and for Pakistan it will rise by two to three.
“We are a fantastic team however, in order to be champions we must be successful in this tournament as well as other major series.I’ve said it previously that champion teams can handle pressure well and can prevail in critical moments, and that is what we’ll aim to achieve in the final day of the tournament on Sunday.Achieving victory against Sri Lanka and claiming the Asia Cup title is the real deal for us!” Shadab said.

The momentum is with Sri Lanka as they have won in four of their last five T20Is contested against Pakistan.
Shadab believes that Pakistan have achieved a great job in reaching the final, despite losing their opening game of the tournament against India with five wickets.He also complimented his team-mates for their important roles in winning crucial victories in the tournament, despite losing players such as Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Shahnawaz Dahani prior to and during the tournament.
“When we lost the opening game of the tournament against India we were sure we would rise.And we did rise.
Rizwan was astonished in his performance in the match against Hong Kong, followed by an impressive bowling performance which helped us win the confidence-building victory.Nawaz demonstrated excellent all-round performance in the match against India in the Super Four match, and even though I was the only player of the game against Afghanistan the two sixes of Naseem Shah will be forever remembered!”
“Amidst Shaheen’s absence, and some of batters’ difficulties in seeking form There was a general belief that Pakistan could be eliminated of the tournament at any time.However, the very essence of cricket is teamwork, not on individualism.”

Shadab expressed his appreciation for the leadership of the prolific batter Babar Azam, even though he himself has been a bit short of runs in the tournament.”Babar Azam has given us a lot of lessons and, along with the fantastic team spirit he has created I believe the most important aspect of his leadership style is that he has instilled the never-give-up attitude in us.Even when we are in difficult situations, we are required to fight until the end of the game.”
Shadab announced his departure by saying that they’d like to brighten the faces of people who have been devastated by massive flooding in Pakistan with their victory at the Asia Cup on Sunday.”Due to the extreme weather conditions the third of Pakistan is currently submerged.”
“Since we’re far from our home country and watching the devastating disaster from afar makes it more difficult for us.We’d hope to be able to win this event in order to bring smiles to the faces of the people who have been affected by the floods.”
