New Delhi, Sep 9 : The number of requests for Amazon Alexa in Hindi language have increased by more than 52 percent in the past year, the company announced on Friday.Users in India communicate with Amazon’s Amazon Alexa voice service thousands of times in every day in Hindi and Hinglish for information, music cricket scores smart home controls as well as setting alarms/reminders and many more.
“We have been working tirelessly to make the Alexa voice service simple and useful by introducing support for the Hindi language, and also updating it with information such as local information music, Bollywood news, cricket scores, and more,” said Dilip RS the Country Manager of Alexa, Amazon India.
“I am delighted to witness the rise in use of Alexa in Hindi in the past three years.
This is a great incentive to keep creating new and relevant local details and functions to Alexa,” he added.
Customers are getting the most of their smart speakers through using voice-free calls to Alexa.
In the majority of Indian households, people are able to communicate in a mixture of Hindi as well as English languages.
By using its multilingual feature, Alexa can answer your queries in one or both of the two languages at once.
Furthermore the Alexa Natural Language Understanding (NLU) team has improved the multilingual model to work with English as well as Hindi languages and has improved the service in responding to mixed-languages the company claimed.
