Ahmedabad on the 8th of September : Three sanitation employees tried to commit suicide by drinking phenyl in Bopal-Ghuma on Thursday.They were taken to the Sola government hospital in Ahmedabad and are being treated.
They protested against the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for appointing 53 sanitation employees in the region.Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Hitendra Barot told the media, “New sanitation workers were appointed in the Bopal-Ghuma district and, when they arrived for duty on a Thursday, a few sanitation workers who were not present protested.They were obstructing sanitation works and trying to influence corporate decisions.”
Three of these protesters consumed Phenyl in an attempt to commit suicide and were taken to the Sola government hospital, according to the police inspector P R Jadeja.Three of them are being treated and are stable.
