Islamabad Sep 4, : Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed gratitude to China for its assistance to flood victims of Pakistan. “I am deeply grateful to the Chinese leadership and the Chinese people for the additional 300 million yuan (about 43.5 million U.S.dollars) relief aid to flood victims in Pakistan,” the foreign minister tweeted on Saturday night.
The Chinese government and businesses have been providing aid to relief to Pakistan since the floods got extreme in Pakistan, Xinhua news agency reported.
The total number of deaths in Pakistan from this year’s monsoon rains and floods that began mid-June has reached 1,290 with 12,588 people injured according to the most up-to-date figures released by the Pakistani National Disaster Management Authority on Saturday.
“This is yet another sign of our special relationship which is the strength of which is evident in these times of difficult times,” Zardari said.
