Berlin 31 August : Russian gas deliveries to Germany via the Nord Stream 1 Baltic Sea pipeline halted on Wednesday, the same day as planned according to the operator of the pipeline Nord Stream AG.The Nord Stream AG website said that there was no significant amount of gas was flowing through the pipeline in the period between 3 a.m.between 3 and 4 a.m.according to the DPA news agency.
The number of gasoline deliveries had decreased in the preceding hour.
Russian state-owned energy company Gazprom issued an advance warning that gas delivery were suspended for a short period on Wednesday in order to complete repairs, with deliveries due to resume on Saturday morning.
Klaus Muller, director of Germany’s energy regulator, the Federal Network Agency, Klaus Muller has questioned the credibility of the maintenance claim.
Recent weeks have seen only 20% of the maximum volume of gas delivered has been delivered via the pipeline.
Gazprom has repeatedly pointed to technical explanations for the drastic decline in deliveries.
The German government has publicly questioned the claims.
