Iran does not seek nuclear weapons: President

Tehran 30 Aug : Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has stated that his country has not sought to build nuclear weapons, but will use nuclear technology for civilian use.
“Nuclear manufacturing and nuclear capability are the rights of the Islamic Republic and the people of Iran as we’ve always emphasized that nuclear weapons are not allowed in the doctrine of the Islamic Republic,” Raisi spoke at a press conference on Monday.

Iran is looking to utilize nuclear technology in gas and oil and medicine, among other areas of civilian life, he was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.

The Iranian government and its officials, as per Raisi have repeatedly stated Iran’s position regarding the development of nuclear weapons.

Raisi was critical of Israel for trying to stop Iran from having nuclear capabilities and access to the relevant information.

“But the knowledge today is now a part of the Iranian culture and is not able to be removed from Iran,” he said.
