Bhubaneswar August 29, : In the day of National Sports Day, Odisha government felicitated 291 athletes with cash prizes of the amount of 2.12 crore to reward their impressive performance in international and national competitions.The state government congratulated the athletes from Odisha in an exclusive event in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Commonwealth Games 2022 medal winners in hockey Amit Rohidas and Deep Grace Ekka were honoured by the Chief Minister.
Amit was awarded cash of 75 lakhs for winning silver, while Deep was awarded 50 lakhs in cash in the event of winning Bronze.
Dutee Chand and Srabani Nanda for their participation in CWG 2022.
Padmini Rout, who will be participating in FIDE Chess Olympiad, Dinesh Kumar for participation in CWG 2022.They received the sum of Rs 7.5 lakh each from the minister of sports Tusharkanti Behera during the ceremony.
Similar to that as players of chess Saina Salonika was given an amount of 1.5 lakh, footballer Tankadhar Bag received Rs 2 lakh blind chess player Soundaryapradhan was given Rs 2 lakh.The wheelchair fencers V.Ramesh Rao, Rakhal Sethy, received two lakhs and Malati Panure received Rs 3 lakhs from the minister in recognition of their accomplishments in international competitions.
Weightlifter Jhili Dalabehera and shooter Shriyanka Sadangi were presented with the famous Biju Patnaik Sports Award in recognition of their outstanding performance in games and sports by the CM.
