Thiruvananthapuram 25 Aug : With an appeal to a lower court for the registration of a case against former state minister and legislator K.T.Jaleel for his ‘anti-national’ Facebook posting about Kashmir, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has some tough decisions to take.This month Jaleel when he was on his way to Kashmir took to social media and wrote about Kashmir as “India Occupied Kashmir’ and Pakistan occupies Kashmir as “Azad Kashmir’.
The comments created an enigma, with his political adversaries criticizing him.
After a massive backlash, despite the fact that he tried to avoid it initially he removed the article and thought he was done with this.
However, two people contacted various police stations in the state to ask for an investigation to be registered but were denied.
However, one of the complainants was an RSS leader in Pathanamthitta district, contacted the lower court in Thiruvalla and was directed by the local police to file an action against Jaleel.
The charges against Jaleel include the following: 153 (B) and Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act 1971 (2) and both cases are not bailable.
All attention is now focused at the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is also Home Minister.
not too long time ago the Former seven-time legislator P.C.George was arrested.
George who doesn’t have the most pleasant of relationships with Vijayan George was detained twice but the court allowed the defendant bail immediately.
Jaleel has been a close friend of Vijayan.All attention is on Vijayan whether he accepts the police to proceed with their tasks.
Jaleel has been running in the independent race with CPI-M support.
