Los Angeles, Aug 23 : Meghan Markle deconstructs the historical context of gender stereotypes in society about women in “Archetypes,” her weekly podcast on Spotify which debuted on Tuesday, according to “Variety”.The debut episode of “Archetypes” features Serena Williams, who recently announced plans to step down from professional tennis.
She then talks with Markle about the dual standards women have to meet when they are called “ambitious”.The next episode will include a chat with Mariah Carey.
The Duchess of Sussex’s weekly podcast is exclusively available on Spotify all over the world.”Archetypes” is the first series to be added to Spotify in the exclusive agreement with Markle as well as Prince Harry’s Archewell Audio.The deal was signed in 2020, which also included “Variety”.
In the show, Markle will have “uncensored conversations” with guests, including experts and historians to explore the genesis of the stereotypes that surround women as well as how they impact the narratives in the world of culture.
“Archetypes” will explore “how we discuss women and the words that define our girls and how the media reflect women on us,”” Markle says in the trailer for the show according to the magazine ‘Variety’.”But where are these stereotypes coming from? And what do they do to keep showing up in the way we live the way we live?” she asks.
