Patna 21 Aug : BJP Rajya Sabha member and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday made accusations of taking Rs 12 crore from his pocket against Bihar Agriculture Minister Sudhakar Singh.Modi also stated that Singh is an RJD leader and the son of the state unit chief Jagadanand Singh has been released of bail after putting down Rs 60 lakh and wanted the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to remove the cabinet member.
“In the case of fraud, Sudhakar Singh was in prison for a long time.The court granted bail just after he paid 60 lakh rupees.
Sudhakar Singh sought bail of an earlier court, which denied his request.Therefore, he applied for the bail in the Patna High Court which granted bail after he made a payment of 60 lakh rupees.
“Sudhakar Singh is a victim of a debt of Rs 12 crore of the state government.However, the Patna High Court did not allow him to waive.
The court has temporarily stopped the collection of the money,” Modi said.
“Sudhakar Singh should respond whether there was a matter of misappropriation was brought against him or not.He should also respond whether he had a prison sentence or not” he said, asking the Chief Minister to decide if “it was prudent to hold the minister who was arrested for misappropriation.of misuse of funds”.
Modi also suggested that RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagadanand Singh may try to pressure Nitish Kumar to alter the policy to ensure that he could be relieved from the burden of repayment.
Responding to the allegations, Sudhakar Singh said: “The allegations were made in 2013, and then the BJP made it a topic in 2022 because of jealousy.I was a candidate for the BJP in the 2020 Assembly election.Why did the BJP not raise this issue against me at the time.
Because of my work in the area, I was able to contest the election and was successful.As I was taking my certificate from DM the DM, a number of calls were made at the DM.He attempted to steal my certificate of winning.I ask the authority to look into the details of the call of the DM of Buxar.It will be obvious who called him.”
