Damascus : , December 27, 2012 – A war monitor reported Sunday that 241 civilians were killed by landmines or other explosives in Syria’s war zones in 2021.According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the number of victims includes 114 children, and 19 women.
This watchdog urged international organizations to remove war remnants from Syria, and raise awareness about the potential dangers of these materials to the Syrian people.
SANA, the state news agency in Syria, reported numerous incidents where civilians were killed in landmine accidents.
They claimed that terrorist groups had placed them in places they used during the 10-year-old war in Syria.
