Sanaa 26 December : .The Houthi militia in Yemen claimed that they were responsible for the attack by ballistic missiles on Samtah, Saudi Arabia.
This incident resulted in two deaths and seven injuries.In a Saturday statement aired by the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, Yehya Saarea said that “our forces struck and destroyed sensitive locations in (Saudi Arabia’s southwestern area of Jizan) with three ballistic missiles.”
He said, “The attack was in response to an escalation of the Saudi-led alliance toward our country.”
According to Saudi state media, the Houthi missile strike on Friday night in Samtah killed a Saudi citizen as well as a Yemeni worker migrant, injuring seven more.
After the Iran-backed Houthi militia had forced Sanaa’s capital, Sanaa, from its control in 2015 and forced it out of Sanaa, the Saudi-led coalition intervened to help the internationally recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
Recent cross-border missile and drone attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi cities have been intensified.
The Houthi militia waged a massive offensive against the Yemeni government to seize the oil-rich Marib province.
