New Delhi 25 December : .The Delhi government collected Rs 1.54 crore in a penalty for violating Covid-19 proper behaviour during the past two days.
163 FIRs were also registered, with East Delhi recording 1,245 and North 1,446 violations respectively.Meanwhile, 7,778 people were caught violating Covid-19 guidelines, including not wearing masks and not following physical distance or crowding an area.

Officials claim that the fines imposed Wednesday and Thursday were the most severe in recent weeks.

The Delhi government collected Rs 21 Crore as fine in November.

A video of Sarojini Naga was recently circulated on social media, where it could be seen by large crowds.

The video attracted attention from the authorities including Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.

According to the LG office, a statement said that media reports and ground inputs indicate overcrowding in markets and violations of Covid-appropriate behavior at all bars, restaurants, and public places.However, the positive trend is continuing and the positivity rate has risen up to 0.29 percent.

On Friday, Delhi reported 180 Covid-19 new cases — the highest number in six months.This comes amid increasing concern over Omicron variants of coronavirus.

Also, the city reported the highest positive rate (the percentage of Covid-19 test results that return positive) since June 15, at 0.29 percent.

On June 16, the city had received 212 Covid-19 case records.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in Delhi, has banned Christmas and New Year festivities following the Omicron variant.
