New Delhi, November 22nd : , The Hindu community of Pakistan has agreed to pay the Fines imposed upon 11 Religious Leaders in connection with the attack on Karak Temple in December 2020 by the All Pakistan Hindu Councils Fund, Express Tribune reported.According to the report, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered that Rs 30.30 Million reconstruction charges be recovered from the defendants named in FIR.This was despite objections by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government (K-P).It had been discovered that local clerics were involved in the attack and were causing obstacles in rebuilding the temple.
Although the government is rebuilding the temple, a local priest and resident opposed the extension of the temple.
They ‘directed the contractor’ to build a wall along the verandah to anger the Hindu community.
Local resident said that the Hindu Council had decided to settle Jamait Ulemai-e-Islam Fazal’s (JUI-F), district Amir Maulana Mir Zaqeem and former district Nazim Karak Rehmat Salam Khattak and Maulana Sharifullah’s fines.Rs 268,000 per head has already been paid.”
The report stated that there are total of 123 suspects who were named in FIR by police.Many of them were chosen with help from video footage.
These 123 individuals were already being notified by the district administration to make their payments on October 26.In the event that they do not pay, a list has been made of all the property of those people.
According to a local Hindu leader, they were completely powerless because the government was involved but the Deputy Commissioner declined to assist them during reconstruction due to fear from the local clergy.
Express Tribune reports that the Hindu Council fund was used to compensate the fines.This didn’t seem to be a good idea as the community did not want to anger the clerics.
He stated that “The DC declined to even take action against the local cleric, who claimed that the word “Hindu Temple” will not be inscribed at the front of the building.”
The report stated that “the amount has been paid but all the 123 defendants are now demanding that the Hindu community pay their fine, which is impossible.”
Police and district administrators had again requested that the accused pay the sum within fourteen days or they would face severe consequences.
