Andhra Pradesh State Tourism Minister Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao has said that the Papikondalu boat services will start from November 7.He recently held a meeting with boat operators at the secretariat.
Speaking on this occasion, the minister said that the state government is giving utmost priority to the development of the tourism sector as well as the safety of tourists.Boat operators need to pay special attention to the safety of tourists.
Also, he made it clear to the boat operators that the government guidelines should be strictly followed.
The ticket price from Rajahmundry to Papikondalu has been fixed at Rs 1,250 (transport and accommodation).
In the future, the Polavaram project area will be developed as a popular tourist hub.The Andhra Pradesh state govt is emphasizing more on developing tourism in the state.
The minister explained that the government had undertaken strict measures after the boat accident in the Godavari last year.He said 9 command and control centres have been set up in the tourist boating areas of the Godavari and Krishna rivers.
The boat operators asked the minister to ply boats also from West Godavari district to Papikondalu.
