Telangana state Excise Minister Srinivas Goud recently felicitated the excise officials, who seized 5 kg of Mephedrone drug worth nearly Rs 2 crore, at his camp office in Hyderabad.He said about 5 kg of Mephedrone drug worth over Rs 2 crore in the international market was seized.
The minister said the performance of the officers was laudable.
Speaking on this occasion, Minister Srinivas Goud said that the Chief Minister of the state KCR is aiming to make Telangana a drug free state.
Also, the minister said that the excise officials across the state have drawn up special plans to crack down on those who manufacture, transport, sell and consume drugs in the state.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner David Ravikant and Assistant Commissioner Chandraya, a tight vigil was set up in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district under the supervision of Excise Department Superintendent Vijay Bhaskar.
The minister said that with the information received from credible sources, the staff carried out large-scale raids and seized 5 kg of Mephedrone drug worth about Rs 2 crore.The Department of Excise officials has set up an armed special task force to make Telangana a Drug-free state.
