According to the Gazette notification, the licenses expire on September 30, 2022.
Initially, the government has stated that there will be 3,500 liquor stores under the scheme.Their number was reduced to 2,934 in May last year after the first lockdown.
The government has banned the sale of liquor from Tirupati railway station to Alipiri and will not allow liquor shops and permit rooms in the area.However, there will be no change in the number of retail outlets.
From now, the liquor stores will have the opportunity to make payments digitally.The Excise Department has announced that it will review liquor sales along the national highways.
The government on Friday issued a gazette notification that the policy would be in force till September 30, 2022.
