San Francisco, Sep 13 : Alongside the addition of new features that will allow it to make it easier to compete with competitors, video-conferencing platform Zoom has revealed that it will be changing the name of Zoom Chat to Zoom Team Chat to increase collaboration and teamwork.The platform claims to have already invested a significant amount in Zoom Team Chat’s capabilities and will unveil further improvements later in the month.
“Our extensive platform allows people to connect across different locations, devices, and spaces and work becomes.well less work.
The most important factor in the effectiveness of our platform is our ongoing group collaboration as well as our messaging hub” the company wrote in a blog post.
“We used to refer to it as Zoom Chat.
Since the beginning of today, we’re officially changing the name to Zoom Team Chat, to usher in the future of persistent messaging, and to further improve collaboration and teamwork,” it added.
The company claimed that Team Chat extends beyond instant messaging.It’s a powerful collaboration hub that makes use of group and 1:1 chats and channels to connect work streams, keep projects on course, and connect all the various stakeholders.
Team Chat integrates messaging files, file sharing, third-party integrations video, voice, and whiteboards in one location to make it easier to collaborate.
If you want to take chat conversations to video or phone call, or even share an idea on a whiteboard it is possible to do this with the click of one button in Zoom Team Chat, the company stated.
Furthermore, Team Chat is a useful tool for external communication.
It offers an easy and secure communication experience for external contacts, such as consultants, vendors, customers and many more.A message in the chat box or channel “compose” message box shows the time an external user is present.
“We will continue to develop different areas of our product portfolio in order to meet your current and future needs.We have launched three new products in the past year to enhance visual collaboration, improve the customer experience, as well as increase sales actions,” the platform said.
