Bengaluru 13th September : A scuffle has started in Karnataka in relation with the festival of Hindi Diwas on Wednesday, with the JD (S) and BJP adopting a confrontational stance.Former Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy has written an email to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, stating that the celebration of Hindi Diwas in will amount to committing a crime against the land.
The BJP has responded his letters, saying that the citizens of Karnataka are smart enough to be able to discern the political motives and don’t seem to care.
However the police are not taking chances and have decided to provide strict security throughout the state, with a particular focus on Bengaluru.
Kumaraswamy claimed that the country has thousands of languages and sub-languages, and it is an incredible union of 560 provinces with distinct cultural and social beliefs that are able to agree to join.
“On this land, giving preference to one language is a slap to the country.
The 14th of September the celebration of the central government-sponsored Hindi Diwas forcefully in Karnataka is a betrayal of Kannadigas by the ruling BJP,” he said.
He has also urged Bommai not not celebrate Hindu diwas at the cost of Kannada residents.
Responding strongly to the petition, the state minister for Education B.C.Nagesh declared that Kannada people would not pay attention to his message, and added that Hindi Diwas has been celebrated since 1949.
The subject has been used to gain political gain now, Nagesh said, adding that Kumaraswamy intends to profit and politicize of every aspect.
If their ideology were that his father, the former prime minister H.D.Deve Gowda, ought to have stopped his celebrations, he stated.
Nagesh continued to state that Hindi Diwas celebrations were not initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the BJP It has been observed since 1949.
“The BJP government is committed to the development of every regional language of India,” he said.
