The U.S.Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Friday issued a key statement regarding H1B visas that allow skilled professionals to work in the United States.Applications for H-1B visas for the 2022-23 fiscal year, which begins in October, will be accepted from March 1 this year.
The USCIS has announced that it will continue to accept new applications until March 18.A confirmation number will be issued to each applicant, based on which the applicants will be able to know the registration status from time to time.Applicants will have to pay a fee of 10 (Rs.750 in Indian currency) for online registration.USCIS said it would select some of the applications after the deadline and notify them by March 31.
Millions of applications for H-1B visas are received each year.Of these, 65,000 applications will be selected through a computer-based lottery system and US visas will be issued.In addition, another 20,000 visas will be issued to foreign students who have completed higher education at American universities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
That means a total of 85,000 H1B visas.
The H-1B visa is a key step in fulfilling the American dream.
