Trisha Krishnan, an Indian actress who has been in the industry for two decades, recently experienced a career resurgence with her role as Princess Kundavai in the film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.The film was directed by Mani Ratnam, and its success helped to reinvigorate Trisha’s career.
During a recent press conference in Mumbai to promote the upcoming sequel ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, Trisha discussed her experience working with an ensemble cast on the period film.She explained that it was her first time working on a multi-starrer film and that it was a unique experience to be surrounded by so much talent for the entire 130-day shoot.
Trisha also shared that the cast grew closer during the promotion period, where they had the chance to laugh and cry together.
Trisha has had a successful career in Tamil cinema, with films such as ‘Ghilli’, ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’, ‘Mankatha’ and ’96’.
However, she had a rough patch after some of her film choices did not perform as well as expected.Her role in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ helped to turn things around for her and she is now eager to deliver more path-breaking work.
In addition to ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, Trisha is currently filming ‘Leo’ with Thalapathy Vijay and Sanjay Dutt.She is also making her digital debut in ‘Brinda’, an investigative thriller in Telugu, which will stream on Sony LIV.The film co-stars Indrajith Sukumaran.
‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ features an ensemble cast that includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, along with many other talented actors from Tamil cinema.The film’s music is composed by A.R Rahman.
