During the pandemic time, healthcare workers stood as one of the frontline warriors.

At that time, several State governments got a proposal to grand quarantine leaves for the healthcare workers.However, as the Covid-19 pandemic is getting to normal mode, the government health officials say there will not be any quarantine leaves for the healthcare workers.

On Sunday, the Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr K Ramesh Reddy and senior officials from Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) said, TIMS and other government hospitals’ healthcare workers cannot take quarantine leaves.They say Government of India’s advisory has not granted any quarantine leave for healthcare workers.

According to the health officials, all the healthcare workers are getting protective equipment like PPE kits, N-95 masks, surgical gloves and sanitizers to prevent infection among healthcare workers, and there is no need to grant them quarantine leave.

Responding on the allegations about unreleased salaries for contract employees, DME said, payments for all contractual staff have credited into their respective accounts.

Meanwhile, as many as Covid-19 restrictions are set loose, most hospitals, including Gandhi Hospital, are now operating non-Covid services also.
