On a query regarding the criticism made by TRS officials for having photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but in the absence of Chief Minister KCR at Raj Bhavan, she wondered how he could ask for his picture to be displayed without having to visit Raj Bhavan.
“You aren’t coming due to the photo? of the image? Tomorrow, I’ll put up a photoon the wall, so come,” she remarked.
When asked about the Telangana government’s claim that Centre had discriminated against the state, the governor stated that good relations solve problems.
She had a problem with the chief minister’s decision not to attend the South Zonal Council meeting held recently in Thiruvananthapuram.
She stated that she was present at the meeting as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and 75 percent of the issues that were discussed are related to Telangana as well as Andhra Pradesh. She said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah was prepared to discuss and resolve all issues.”All the chief ministers were there , but what was the reason why the chief minister (KCR) was not present. What’s the issue with you?” she asked.
In announcing that it was an open discussion with everyone willing to talk about agenda items, she wondered why elected representatives were not performing in their duties.
She claimed that the government of the state did not allow her the chance to fly the flag of the nation during the Republic Day parade. She claimed she was instructed to raise the flag in Raj Bhavan citing Covid-19 procedures.
She was puzzled as to what the reason for this restriction.only in Telangana as all states had Republic Day parades.
She further claimed that when her office approached state officials to request the speech however, the speech was not made available. She also defended her own speech at the event.”You are not delivering the speech. That’s why I should not speak.Do I not have the right to speak? Should I read the speech they say on Republic Day,” she asked.
The governor further asked the chief minister why he could not stop the chief minister, his MLAs, and MPs from visiting Raj Bhavan.”Is Raj Bhavan an untouchable location,” she asked.
Tamilisai claimed she was targeted by social media while she was a political figure. She said even now that she holds the office of Governor, she is being targeted for humiliation.”However I am a determined person.I am not afraid to stand up to the people around me,” she said.
She remembered the time she was told that when she was planning to visit Samakka Sarakka Jatra and requested helicopter transportation but the state government did not inform her until the very last minute, thereby forcing her to leave on the road.
She claimed she was forced to travel on the road for about eight hours.
Tamilisai Soundararajan also criticized the TRS government for what she claimed was a change in the government’s position on the 17th of September which is the date of the accession of Hyderabad State with Indian Union.
Concerning the debate over the Government of India celebrating it as Telangana Liberation Day and the state’s government recognizing the day as National Integration Day, she stated that she looked into the state’s history and concluded that liberation is a proper word.”First they accepted it, but they are they are now taking a different position due to of politics,” she said.
