Jaipur on the 12th of September : The shoes were thrown at the Rajasthan’s Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Ashok Chandna, in an event marking the burial of the ashes of Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla who played a significant contribution in the Gurjar reservation movement in the holy water of Pushkar.According to reports, when Chandna was about to give his speech people began protesting and throwing his shoes, shouting “Sachin Pilot Zindabad” slogans.
In a tweet, Chandna said: “Today we witnessed a beautiful scene as Rajendra Rathod, (then cabinet member) who was the one who ordered the murder of 72 people was greeted with applause when he appeared on stage and threw his shoes at family members whose relatives were in jail in the (Gurjar reservation) protests.”
In a different tweet he added, “The family members of the martyrs were seated on the platform where the shoes were set.At least they ought to have been taken into the care of.”
“Time will show the extent to which these individuals who destroyed the final memories of Colonel Roberts will travel,” he added.
Slogans of “Sachin Pilot Zindabad’ have been heard since the beginning of the program.The protests began after the minister of industries Shakuntala Rawat arrived to give her speech.
She declared the commencement of an institution in the name of Colonel Bainsla at Karauli however, the crowd refused to allow her to continue, and they chanted “Sachin Pilot Zindabad” slogans.
But, Rawat managed to deliver her speech.
Following this, Chandna came to deliver his speech, however, some people in the crowd threw objects and shoes at the speaker.While the police calmed the protesters, Chandna had to leave at the midpoint.
