New Delhi, Aug 24 : Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill on Wednesday resigned his post after stating that his vision of Congress’ decision makers were not “in with” with aspirations of the young. “The principal reason is that the philosophy and concept of the present decision-makers of the Indian National Congress is no anymore in the same line with the dreams of the youth and the modern India,” he said in an open letter addressed to the party’s head Sonia Gandhi.
“Furthermore I am afflicted to declare that decision-making is not anymore in the interest of the people and the country, but instead is driven by the selfish interests of people who indulge in hypocrisy and in constant disregard of the facts. It is something that I can’t morally accept and remain in partnership with,” he added.
In the end, he thanked Gandhi for every opportunity the party had given him.
The resignation follows the resignation of senior leaders of the party Ghulam Nabi Azad as well as Anand Sharma resigned from election-related committees in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, respectively.
