The BJP is planning to conduct around 40 public meetings around the Telangana, in a move to give the ruling BRS in the state a tough competition in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Soon after the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Telangana on 1 and 3 October, the party’s national president JP Nadda will visit the state on 6 October.

Nadda is expected to interact with the party leaders to prepare the road map for the forthcoming Assembly elections.

PM, senior leaders to visit all districts Modi will address two public meetings to be organised by the state BJP unit on 1 and 3 October in Mahbubnagar and Nizamabad districts, respectively.

This will be followed by Nadda’s visit to Telangana on 6 October.He will address leaders during the party’s extended committee meeting, to be conducted at Bongulur in the Hyderabad suburbs in the Ranga Reddy district.

Nadda will discuss the election strategy and the key aspects to be included while preparing the manifesto, apart from finalising the list of candidates aspiring to contest the Assembly polls in the state.

Once the visits of Modi and Nadda are completed, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit the state.

Shah’s schedule is expected to be finalised after Modi and Nadda’s visit.The party is conducting these meetings covering all the 10 districts in Telangana to explain the development programmes and welfare schemes initiated for the state by the Union government in the last nine years.

The chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states will attend as chief guests during the meetings to be convened at the headquarters in all the districts, party sources said, adding that all 40 meetings would be organised in the next month.

The BJP is expected to highlight the preferences given by the Centre to Telangana in constructing highways, laying new railway lines, introducing Vande Bharat trains and granting national institutions to Telangana since its formation in 2014.

The party is also explaining the benefits that would be reaching the state with the double engine ‘sarkar’ if the BJP is voted to power in the Assembly elections.
