Music director, Singer Bappi Lahari No More!

Leading music director and singer Bappi Lahari has passed away.Bappi Lahari, 69, has been ill for some time.

He succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Mumbai.He made a splash in the Indian film industry with his disco music in the 1980s and 90s.

His music directed films like Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer and Sharabi became super hits.Bappi Lahari was born on November 27, 1952 in Jalpaiguri, Bengal.

He has composed music in Hindi as well as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Gujarati.He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014 and contested the same year’s parliamentary elections as an MP from Bengal.

Bappi Lahari has also worked as a music director for many successful films in Telugu.He has provided music for successful films such as Simhasanam, State Rowdy, Samrat, Gang Leader, Rowdy Garipellam, Donga Police, Brahma, Nippuravva, Bigboss, Khaidi .He sang his last song in the 2020 film Baaghi 3 which was released in Hindi.The singer’s last apperance on the screen was with Salman Khan on reality show Bigg Boss 15, where he was promoting his grandson Swastik’s new song ’Baccha Party’.
