San Francisco, Sep 11 : In an effort to improve user experience on Teams the the tech giant Microsoft plans to display results from searches in context, by clicking on the thread that contains an item that was searched for.According to Windows Central, the new option could be available in October 2022 for Teams on Windows as well as Mac.
When you look up text in Teams, it directs users to a display of their messages as well as any thread that is directly connected, however, it’s totally out of context the report stated.
The search results doesn’t bring users to the location the location where the chat was posted within the channel or conversation which is set to change.
“When users look up a chat message in Teams and then click an outcome of a message and are directed to a page which only contains the message that was selected instead of the whole chat stream” the company cited an article to the Microsoft 365 roadmap.
“This fix will now put users on the complete chat thread when the search results are clicked on, giving the full details of the conversation that took place around the message’s result,” it added.
The report noted that the change will help to better understand the context of messages.
